A simple 3-ingredient recipe that is the perfect accompaniment to pork chops. My recipe for ginger beer apple sauce is not too sweet and not too spicy from the ginger. It has a nice balance of flavor and takes no time at all to prepare.
I love the combination of apple sauce and pork chops, it’s a classic combination that goes way back. This quick and easy apple sauce recipe is served warm on top of the chops and is a real treat. The flavors are very complimentary and pork chops can always benefit from a little extra love.
Although I made this apple sauce to serve with pork chops, the ginger beer apple sauce is amazing just on its own. A fun, relatively healthy treat or a simple dessert. I like to serve apple sauce on the side of some desserts as an alternative to whipped cream or ice cream. A perfect alternative for vegans and people who are lactose intolerant.

Ginger Beer Apple Sauce Ingredients
- Apples: 2-cups of any type of apple that is good for baking. I used Golden Delicious in the photos, but I also enjoy this apple sauce recipe with Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples.
- Fresh Ginger: 1-teaspoon of freshly grated ginger helps reinforce the ginger flavor in the ginger beer. I use the edge of a spoon to peel fresh ginger, it’s a quick and easy technique.
- Ginger Beer: 1-cup of ginger beer is the perfect amount for 2-cups of apples. As the apple sauce simmers on the stove, the natural pectin in the apples begins to thicken the sauce. At the same time, the ginger beer begins to reduce and concentrate its flavor.
