frozen Kentucky summer cocktail
My old Navy buddy, Coy posted this Kentucky Summer Cocktail recipe on his Facebook page a few months ago and it has quickly become one of my favorites, go-to cocktails. Quick and easy to make, it has a nice level of sweetness yet packs quite the punch.
Normally I use a ratio of 2/1/1 for cocktails, 2oz alcohol, 1oz sweet, 1oz sour. The Luxardo liqueur throws of the ration a little, adding 1oz more of alcohol, but it also acts as part of the sweet in our ratio, so this time it’s actually 3/1/1. But who’s counting?
If you like, you can try the frozen version. I put the glasses, with the ice, into the freezer. Pour the Kentucky Summer Cocktail in and let it partially freeze for about 30 minutes. It has a nice slushy consistency, perfect for those hot summer days!
